Talk School is a premier provider of speech and language therapeutic services.

What We Offer
At Talk School, we offer comprehensive speech, language diagnostic, and therapy services. During our diagnostic sessions, depending upon the individual, we use a complete battery of standardized tests, criterion referenced measures and observations to assess speech and language skills.

Unique Approach
Treatment is tailored to each individual's unique needs. During treatment sessions, in addition to traditional language therapy techniques, we may focus on traditional articulation therapy, teaching students to progress from single sounds to sound combinations and all the way up to full sentences and conversation. Therapy is focused on developing motor memory for articulation by incorporating a high level of repetition with parent training for carryover in the home environment.

Therapy
In both outpatient services and our school program, we utilize integral stimulation therapy, which is the only therapeutic method whose efficacy is supported by empirical data. Integral stimulation therapy is based in cognitive motor learning theory and is mentioned as the only efficacious treatment method for Childhood Apraxia of Speech by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

Training
All of our clinicians hold a master’s degree. Additionally, our SLPs are PROMPT-trained and utilize DTTC (Dynamic and Tactile Temporal Cueing) evidence-based therapies for our students with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. We also use ReST Therapy for the students that need work on prosody; specifically word stress and co-articulation. All of our clinicians have had training in such therapeutic methods in multisensory language, language/literacy programs including the Association Method. We very proudly cheerlead our students that use scripts as their core language-learning tool, utilizing therapy techniques supporting Natural Language Acquisition for Gestalt Language Learners. We also support parent engagement in our therapeutic process, with ongoing observations encouraged throughout the year.
